TIMELINE:

The following timeline will be used for this project:

March 5 – April 25, 2024: Submit up to TWO designs per person.

April 26 – 30: 1st Round Preliminary Jury Selection

May 1 - 3: 2nd Round Jury Final Selection

May 5: Announcement of selected Artist

May: Commence mural preparation

June (date TBD): Mural painting anticipated

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

This project is open to submissions from Syracuse residents, past and present—OR—SDA Schools Alumni. All entrants must be able to travel to Syracuse and facilitate execution of the project should their design be chosen. Entrants are responsible for choosing paint swatches, image mapping, and coordination of community volunteers to help execute their mural. By submitting their design, entrants agree and will be required to confirm in writing that: the proposed designs are original and of their own invention and/or creation; none of the imagery used is protected by registration or copyright restrictions; entrants give their expressed permission for the Syracuse Mural Committee "Painting the Town with Murals" to execute and display their artwork in a public space without compensation; the committee may use the proposed submissions for any purposes, including but not limited to publication and advertising; and they will enlist the assistance of other committee members and community volunteers as needed in order to foster a spirit of teamwork and community.
